3rd Year Dinner 2006

This is a little overdue...

Had my faculty's 3rd Year dinner last Wednesday evening @ Thompkins. It's kind of like a smallish graduation-like dinner for the final year students to come together, reminisce the times spent together, catch up, eat, get drunk and just have a good time.

Had a great time there. Everyone was nicely dressed up. Some dodgy awards given out, and by the end of the nite, not many people were really walking in a straight line.

Just some pics of the friends I've made...
I'm sure gonna miss them.

The girlies: Me, Emily, Kat, Renae, Jess

Zac, Jen (my Unigym partner: we teach the same kid together
...she's a funny gal!) and me!

One of my best mates - Josh.
Love his last name though: Pontifix. haha!

Big boy - Scottie with Zac and myself.

Great! AJ and Shane are just out to make me
look short despite me wearing heels.

The boys...

Ah... one of my all time fav. lecturers... Kerry! She's one of a kind!

Sleepy

Hello again...

I can't believe it, I've technically graduated from uni... well, all I have to do *ya rite* now is just sit for my exams, and yes, I've completed my degree! woohoo!

My body clock has been so screwed up lately... not from staying up late to study, but from waking up early to go to work! Yup... been waking up at a godly hour of 4.30am coz I start work at the pool at 5am. U heard me rite... who the hell swims at freaking 6am! Well, actually heaps of ppl. Pretty surprised initially.

Compared to the number of swimmers using the pool on weekends, about 40 people. The morning 6am sessions sees over 60 within the 2 hrs. Yikes! There I am stading on the pool deck trying to look wide awake and alert...

One more thing... I so need to post pics of the sky in the morning. Now that summers is ard the corner, the sun rises pretty early. By 5am its bright, bright, bright! So yea, it's a nice refreshing feeling as I prepare the pool for opening, admiring the sunrise and the pretty colours and cloud formations across the Perth morning sky. I shall attempt to take some the coming Friday!

Masterpiece

Finally, after a week's worth of planning and drawing out drafts... the masterpiece is COMPLETED! Phew!

This was my final major assignment for my Bioenergetic unit where we were made to drawn out and illustrate how fuel (ie:food) is metabolised or brokendown and regulated in our bodies.

I must admit it was a pretty fun assignment to do - but boy was it frustrating and it really does get on your nerves at times, especially when u have to erase everything and start allover again!

Hahaha.. I'm really proud of my work. Ok, I'm sure u guys probably have no idea and don't really give a damn about what I have drawn.

Kept it simple - to summarise the entire thing: It shows how food we eat like carbs, fats and protein are chemically broken down in our bodies and the pathways they take, as well as how all these are regulated when we exercise and stuff.

I was never really good at chemistry... but this unit was interesting. I think mu favourite enzyme till date has to be PHOSPHOFRUCTOKINASE - which is just one one the many enzymes that helps breakdown ur carbohydrates! Boy do I feel like a genius! haha!

Well, its all done. Handed it in... and that was the last of the last of my assignments due this semester. That also means, its time to start cracking for the upcoming exams. I so have no mood whatsoever to start man!

Superstition

OK, I'm not the superstitious kinda person to begin with... but I happened to be web surfing when I chanced upon this... found it kinda interesting for some apparent reason.

Ok, so it's FRIDAY the 13th today.

Did you know there's such a word?

Paraskevidekatriaphobia - The fear of Friday the 13th! (I'm serious!)

What surprised me even more was the fact that people actually wrote and published a research paper on this topic! (can't imagine doing such a topic for my honours!)

Anyway, according to an
abstract of a study published in the British Medical Journal in 1993 entitled "Is Friday the 13th Bad for Your Health?" With the aim of mapping "the relation between health, behaviour, and superstition surrounding Friday 13th in the United Kingdom," its authors compared the ratio of traffic volume to the number of automobile accidents on two different days, Friday the 6th and Friday the 13th, over a period of years.

Incredibly, they found that in the region sampled, while consistently fewer people chose to drive their cars on Friday the 13th, the number of hospital admissions due to vehicular accidents was significantly higher than on "normal" Fridays.

Their conclusion:
"Friday 13th is unlucky for some. The risk of hospital admission as a result of a transport accident may be increased by as much as 52 percent. Staying at home is recommended."

Ummmm.... so there u go. I dunno what to think about it though.

Oops...

Just 2 nights ago, was having drinks somewhere in Northbridge and my friend - Bijia said this to me...

" Oh my goodness Ja, you're such a LUSTY girl!'

You see, we were having a conversation about ideal guys.... haha!
I couldn't stop laughing at the comment she made.

Not again....

Sighz, studying abroad sure does come with its down sides.
My cousin is getting married today, and I can't be back home to attend it!
Arghhh... how frustrating!

This is the second wedding within my extended family that I've missed this year.
I've also misses out on the many family gatherings/birthday celebrations and nice fancy hotel dinners that I simply love going to. Not just because of the yummy food, but its the great company u get when u hang out with such an awesome and wacky extended family like mine - cousins, crazy uncles who love to crack great jokes and aunts who seem to find everything ammusing!

I've also realised that having been here... I haven't even got to see 2 of my newborn neices! :(
I've only seen pictures -that's it! By the time i get my ass back home, they'll think I'm some stranger when i go play with them!

I'm bet at this point in time, my family memebers and relatives are all getting dressed up and looking pretty/handsome as they prepare to head for the wedding dinner. See, its so bad, I don't even know which hotel the wedding dinner is held at! :( I'm dreaming of all the yummy food they get to eat, the wine... i love weddings!

And as for me... I'm eating leftovers from lunch for dinner later! Pathetic!

It was Great!

Time just passes by way too quickly
when your having such a great time catching up
with an awesome friend.
It dawned upon us that even though we do see each other from time to time,
we never actually sat down to do some real talking and sharing.
So today was a first for both of us,
and I'm glad it happened;
despite our efforts keep end the session early.
There was sharing,
singing,
playing the guitar...
I had a great time SUMY!
Thanxs!

Broken

I was preparing to head to uni this afternoon, so since it was drizzling outside, decided that wearing my beloved Havaianas was a better option than my trackies.
GREAT!
As soon as i walked down the stairs....
MY HAVAIANAS BROKE!
No more Havaianas for me....
I'm kinda heartbroken.
They were my favourite pair.

SEXY VOICE

Oh man....boy do I sound so darn sexy the past 2 days!

I've kinda lost my voice since Saturaday when I went down to a pub in Suiaco to catch the live telecast of the Grand Final Footy match between West Coast Eagles vs Sydney Swans held in Melbourne. It was such an exciting and great game to watch. Both teams played well, and it really kept everyone on the edge of their seats coz the scores were so close! But in the end, it was our home team The Eagles who came soaring high for the victory by just 1 Point! Final score 85 -84.

Blardy exciting! Joyce, Ben and I were screaming our lungs out. I think the beer in hand didn't help much. But the atmosphere in the pub was awesome, with everyone rooting for our WA team! They totally deserve it.... a big come back from last's year's unlucky lost.

... and now I have been talking with this low rough and husky voice. It's quite funny actually. It's pretty torturing hearing me speak. But that's not the worst - wait till u hear me sing! *sexy I tell ya*

Oh yes, too add on to that, we just got home from spending half a day at the annual Perth Royal Show. It's this huge ass carnival like thing held in Perth every year. Really, when i say huge, it's really huge! All that screaming on rides and stuff.... yea, I so need to rest my poor throat now!

Shall update more and post some pics soon from our fun day out at The Perth Royal Show 2006.

Footy is an awesome game....

VS
