Yup, that's how low the planes do get... One of the planes strutting its stuff thru the 'air gates'
Sunday was the day Perth hosted the Red Bull Air Race. Must say it was a mighty fine event, something very different from your usual events u tend to see. Well at least for me it was kinda like the first air race I've been to.
Just last Monday, with the exams over and all... a group of us decided to have an overnight trip on Rottnest Island (approx 2oKm off Perth). Set off early Monday morning and and took a 30min ferry ride from Freemantle. I guess you could kinda liken Rottnest with a cross between our local Sentosa and Pulau Ubin... but of coz minus the clear waters and nicer scenery. Haha. Bicycles - Taking a break at one of the lookout points I simply love this pic - took it as we were heading back. Lovely indeed, sunset with the lighthouse in the background... genius! Quakka - The resident animal on the Island. They're nocturnal and there's like tonnes of them on the island espcieally at night! Group shot somewhere on the island Beach babes - Sumy, Me and Mish Chilling in the water - Sumy and Me Another groupshot just before leaving The trip was Great! Totally enjoyed myself, and i bet the rest did too!
Spent the whole of the first day island cycling and checking out the many small beaches lining the entire island's coast. Pretty beaches indeed... the isalnd is huge... so yea, lots of cycling... and lots of hills! *panting* Nonetheless, everything was great... beaches were awesome, weather was kind (although most of us got sunburnt despite the muti-layers of sunblock application) and company was good too! I reckon we covered a good 50km or possibly more covering the entire island.... half of which were uphills and coz the followed downs. Great quads and hamstring training!
We booked a bunglow for a nite for just 50bucks.... big and decent place... considering that there were 9 of us, that was a good deal. Spent the second day mainly hanging out at the beach and just chilling. I'll just let the pics do the talking...
The Basin again - Pretty pretty...
Well if u have no idea what I'm talking about, boy, you're missing out on good stuff! Seriously!
Boost Juice is a chain of retail outlets in Australia that specialise in selling yummy and all natural fresh juice. I particulary love their smoothies. My ultimate favourite has gotta be the Green Tea Mango Mantra. It's so popular here in Aust and I'm just glad they're introducing it to Singapore.
For all health freaks and fruit juice/smoothie lovers out there, this is something that I personally recommend you to have a go at. No preservatives, no sugar, all natural goodness and freshness of fruits and you can always request that u get your drink boosted up with anti-oxidants and their secret booster powder! Go try it ok!
Check Boost out!
Finally! The dreaded final exams are over.
I'm unofficially a Sports Science graduate!
Summer vacation has begun... I have so much planned to do and I'm feeling pretty happy and excited with the upcoming week ahead.
Well aside from work at the pool and assisting in the cardiac rehab gym, it's mainly all pure relaxation, catching up with mates, catching up with sleep and just enjoying the Aussie life.
Anyway, it's Girlies Nite out tonight - prob going to Margeaux for a night of fun and grooving to the music. It's been awhile since I last had a good nite out of pure relaxation. I think this Sunday is gonna be great fun too. The Red Bull Air Race is gonna be held right here in Perth!!! Even better... it's held close by to our house - just along the Swan River! I reckon it's gonna be good. It's this event hosted by different countries around the world where the best pilots show off their skills in arial stunts up close and personal. Looking forward.
OOooo... and come next week, a few friends and myself are taking an overnight trip to Rottnest Island - island cycling, snorkling in the clear waters, suntanning and just chilling! Yuppie!
Know what, I'm feeling rather upset coz since I've been here in Aust, I've missed a couple of good concerts that were held back home. Somehow, only when I'm gone the better stuff happens. For example, I just found out thhat Rockapella are performing at the Esplanade. I like them, think they have great voices. Sighz.
Hmmm... think I should go get ready now to head out and have some FUN! See ya!
Was just sitting at my study table this morning abt 10ish doing some revision for my upcoming exams....
and then my mobile rang...
was expecting it to be the person in charge of the pool to update me on lifeguarding shift changes. But NO.... turned out to be my good ol' driving instructor - Steve!
Without saying much, he just said "Hi Jacinta, meet me outside your driveway in 5mins. See ya!" *hangs up*
Ok, I was kinda puzzled, coz that was like just so out of the blue and very random indeed.
Anyway, met him outside in 5 and we had a good catch-up chat. I haven't seen him since I took my driving test and he thought he heard me say I was leaving for Singapore on 12th Nov, when I'm actually leaving a month later - 12th Dec. So he decided to pop by just in case I was being a meanie, totally forgetting about him and leaving without saying goodbye. Hahah... he's funny.
Nonetheless, that was just so sweet of him. A nice surprise it was for a Thurs morn. Was touched by the small gesture.
He made my day... :)
*heehee... he's taking me out on a coffee 'date' before I leave* Awww....
One paper down and 2 more to go... Arghhh... the weather's not helping much either - it's going bonkers! I think the sun and moon Gods are at war. The mornings are now ridiculously hot and humid (which was a sudden abrupt change from the winter cold) while the nights are relatively cold. Yup, they're definitely taking revenge on each other up there! Kinda funny, coz about 3 days ago, my housemates and I had heaters in our rooms, and come Saturday, it became icky-stickly hot that we all simultaneously packed away our heaters and brought out the fans! I foresee this year's summer to be HOT HOT HOT!
It's currently 3.20am...
The only reason why I'm still up at this inhumane time of the morning apart from possible reasons like clubbing, partying till late or being engrossed watching a whole stack of DVDs on my laptop...
... the EXAMS are around the corner - next week to be exact! Sighz.
I think the 3 years of uni has taken a toll on me. My brain's not really behaving and cooperating with me to help memorize and store all the information. Kinda been unproductive the past couple of days...
I think my brain is shutting down for the day...
Goodnite folks.
