SWEETEST SATURDAY

Once again, the All Blacks have done it - despite trailing by a good 10 points just after halftime, the All Blacks rounded up their line of defence and counter-rucking against the Australian Wallabies, standing firm right thru to the 81st minute to claim their 9th Philips Tri Nations title (and 4th in a row) as well as retaining the Bledisloe Cup with a 28-24 win at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.

A brutal game it was with relentless attacks and several petty fights breaking out on both sides. Ultimately, the was the Blacks who remained undeterred bringing the game to a glorious and sweet victory! As always, team Captain Richie McCaw lead the entire team through a fine game. Also, the 2 halfbacks, Jimmy Cowan and Piri Weepu put up an awesome support driving the ball forward into the Aussie territory.

Check out their traditional pre-match Haka! It's so 'MAN' when they do it. You can really see it in their eyes that they want the win bad, especially when you have people like Ali Williams doing the Haka! He's so passionate about it and McCaw is simply just oh so sexy! Love it!

Go All Blacks!!!

Tries scored: Mils Muliaina, Tony Woodcock, Piri Weepu, Dan Carter ; Carter 4 conversions

Anyway, aside from the Tri Nations win, my Saturday was awesome yet again. Was totally drained by the end of the day. We had our usual touch rugby session again this week @ Bishan Park. Despite the gloomy weather and slight drizzle and the fact that it rained the night before, I'm certainly glad we chose to carry on with the game. After all, getting muddy and dirty is all part of the fun in sports like rugby! *woohoo* The turn out numbers are growing as well. This week we managed a 5-a-side game going with roll back. One things for sure, it was a tiring game alright. It's either because I'm damn unfit or that the intensity of the game went up a notch, and it didn't help either that the afternoon sun was coming up, which kinda screws with ur brain a little! Nonetheless, it was definitely fun. Quite upset I won't be able to join the gang for the next 2 weeks as I'll be on a family vaccation.

The after game proceeded with lunch and heading over to my place in preparation to catch the final Tri Nations match. It's really fun when u watch it with a whole group of friends supporting the All Blacks (with 2 crazy die-hard supporters) and just 1 Wallabian! Haha. Ok, anyway, kudos to the Aussies for putting up a good fight right through to the end! :P

I think my house kinda looked like some Sports Club den yesterday. I'm pretty sure both my parents and sister got quite appalled at the sight of so many people in the house. First was my group of friends who came to watch the rugby match. Right after, my brother hosted and invited a whole group of his soccer friends(like abt 20 of them) over for a potluck cum 'let's watch Man U trash Liverpool' soccer match which obviously didn't go their way. But it was scary alright, can u imagine how noisy it got whenever a try or goal was scored. I should have video tapped the scene. Quite a sight it was.

Final words of the day: Touching is fun! hahahaha!

Overwhelmed

As you guys probably figured from my lack of blogging.... yup, I have been busy alright!

All I can say is that the past 2 weeks at work hasn't been the best for me. Somehow, work seems non-stop. Work is meant to be done only during working hours and not brought home, less over the precious weekends! I'm starting to really question myself if it's just me that I'm so inefficient and not caught up for the job??? I really hope that's not the case!

I think work took its toll on me last Thursday, coz for the entire day, I wasn't me and deep inside I totally felt so damn overwhelmed with work that I think my brain just popped out from my skull! It was till the extent I nearly wanted to cry and let out in the office... obviously I didn't to not make a fool out of myself! Thankfully I have awesome colleagues and a wonderful mentor to keep me sane and grounded to earth! Sometimes, hearing those simple words of encouragement and knowing that you're not the only one feeling that way really make a whole lot of difference. You know who you are. Big thank you!

That's part and parcel of the adult working life I guess. On to happier stuff....

I LOVE touch rugby! I ain't great at the game but I think I'm getting better overtime. The group of people you play with really makes a whole lot of difference! Even though majority are newbies to the sport, everyone has got to start somewhere.... and somehow, the game just seems so much more fun. Although I must admit that playing with the 'more experienced' group in the past was kinda fun to a certain extent coz the playing level is different and you're kinda forced to learn and move faster. But yea, I think I'll choose company of my friends over bad team play anytime! I think only Chels and Aloy will understand what I mean. :)

The touch rugby sessions have been going pretty good so far. It's coming into its third consecutive week of play, which one must understand its a huge steeping stone forward by itself! No activity organised in the past within the Blitzkraft team has ever exceed its second week! So, keep it up team! Let's keep the numbers rolling in and continuing touching away! hahaha! *no pun intended u sickos!*

More pics....

Ummm... Nic where in the world are u running towards? Try line's on your right!

Deliberating on something....
