FINALLY...I'M AN OPEN WATER SCUBA DIVER...WOOHOO!!!

Cool hey? Finally completed my open water scuba diver's course today! Woohoo...certified and licensed to dive, now I'm intending to take my advanced open water license like maybe towards the end of the year, close to summer....was also intending if i save enough money, might wanna try going to Rottenest Island for a dive trip maybe during my September school holidays...we'll just see how it goes, suppose to be one of the better dive sites in Perth, 2nd from Geraldton.

The pass few days have been great, one of the better weeks I've had since I came to Perth. It was an entirely new experience for me...meeting new friends, learning how to dive and just chilling out, doing something that I've always wanted to do for such a long time. It's like time has flew by so fast, yet I felt as if there wasn't enough time for me to completley enjoy myself! Wished I could do more dives during the course.

Preparing and Gearing up to dive

Open water diving @ The Coombes

Thursday...had our first open water dive...was pretty good...visited 2 dive sites- went to Woodman's Point first, currents were pretty strong there so we were unable to make our second dive there...ended up at our second dive site- The Coombes...near freemantle...it was a pretty good site. Despite the water being a freaking 15 degrees cold...all was good. Saw quite a few stuff....there wasn't so much of swimming around, coz the main aim of the course was to see if we could apply our skills that we've learnt in the open sea...

Me and Brent (my dive instructor)

Me and my dive buddy Dwyane

Today, went back to The Coombes to complete our 3rd and 4th dive. Water was even colder that the previous day...when we were doing our skills on the sea bed I was like shivering...hahaha...it gets really cold if u don't move and just sit still waiting for ur turn to show the instructor how u perform ur skills that u have learnt....otherwise, when swimmign ard, it's pretty ok...this time round did a little more swimming ard and exploration of the dive site...did compass navigation and a whole lot of other stuff. It's a shame the course had to come to an end...after packing, headed back to the dive shop to log in our dives and fill up some documents for our diver's license and washing of our gear. Sighz...all in all, I say it was a really good experience, totally enjoyed myself like heaps! Made so many new friends, and just within this short period of time, manage to build new friendships and stuff...and they were even saying that they wanted to meet up sometime and maybe dive together....cool hey? Anyway...after that all of us headed for a nice group dinner....freaking hungry from diving the whole day!

Ok, so now that my dive week is over, I've got lots more things to do. Got to clean, tidy up and vacuum the house tomorrow...getting really messy now! Also got to settle some bank and school stuff, just wanna get everything settled, over and done with kinda thing, then at least I won't have to bother so much. Sacha is finally back from her Melbourne trip, she's gonna spend the week over at our place. Funny, but I don't feel tired now despite having been our the whole day diving and just hanging out....oh well....
