I had sucha blast over the weekend! I really truly enjoyed myself!
WHY....u may be wondering????
Well coz i went for my faculty's annual Yr2 dip ed camp.

Yea, its this outdoor-adventure camp that's organised for the second year students each year in the human movement faculty. I must say it was a totally new experience for myself, especially since i was the ONLY asian in an all aussie camp. So sad, all my other singaporean yr 2 mates din wanna go with me, which was one of the reasons why i was initially kinda hesistant and regretful on making the decision to go. But looking back now...NO REGRETS!

I tell u ppl, after having been and experience the way the aussies run their camps here, u will think that singapore camps are really crap! I speak from experience, once being a pathetic camp participant back in those sec sch days, after which u upgrade a bit and become those bastard camp instructors ....well its really nothing compared.... i swear!

Had our camp at Nanga Bush Camp all the way in Dwellinyup, which is like a 1.5-2 hr drive up north-east of Perth. It's really a bush camp out in the middle of nowhere, just surrounded by tall trees all round...great escape from the urban life. The Amazing Race was the theme for the camp this year... there were 4 groups: Team kenya, Ireland, Mexico and of coz not forgetting Japan, which was the team i was in.... u must be thinking how ironic rite...an asian in a the only asian-named team! Oh wells, but it was great, loved my team alot too, and like the camp leader said, i really do agree with him that our team prob grew the most in terms of team work and friendship thru the camp.

Camp food never tasted better....i felt as if i was in some hotel...super western meals (duh, i'm in aust!)...even had roast beef with gravy for dinner with ice cream for dessert and nice yummy brownies for supper...what the hell rite? Our bunks were really cool too...its seriously too cold to sleep out in the open under a tent...i was already freezing in the log cabin at nite despite wearing several layer over myself.

Activities were so fun and interesting....was tiring but fun....had low ropes, orientering, bush cooking and last but not least rafting....yes, rafting down rapids! woohoo! really loved that alot. Now how many camps have u been to where u trek deep into the forest, down to a river with clear water and rapids...was simply amazing! Campfire nite was fun...all the stupid skits, cheering, fashion show and of coz, who could forget the singing...i must admit the songs they sing here are so much better! There was even a band (full with drums, bass, gutiar) they were really good too! The final day's great Amazing Race Challenge was a real challenge in itself - really tested team work and leadership skills. Nonetheless, in all its physical challanges, the camp was highly enjoyable and an eye-opening experience for myself indeed. Kinda sad that it was all over so quickly...sighz....

Well, some pics here....didn't really take many pics, coz half the time we were running
around.
