Rugby vs Lee Tong Kee Ipoh Hor Fun

Now now, how in the world does rugby and ipoh hor fun have anything to do with each other... or rather, with this post at all?

It's a really tough fight between the both of them. Ultimately, being the biased me, I'll vote rugby as my winner for my awesome Saturday! Well firstly, as much as dear old Mr Lee Tong Kee's Beef (Ngau Lam) hor fun was filled with slurp slurp goodness, I can't deny the fact that those beefy rugby guys running and crashing into each other on the pitch was probably a little more to my taste!

Mr McCaw in action....

The match was awesome! 39-10, a great revival from last week's very disappointing test match! Not to mention, 3 crazy gals (2 loyal diehard all blacks supporters vs 1 uh hmm...'wallabian' who actually dosed off during the match!) mad over their rugby screaming their lungs out on the couch over at my place whenever a potential try was being set up. Of coz there was the usual cursing of the opposing sides when it didn't seem to go our way. Nonetheless, a BIG welcome back from injury to team captain - Richie McCaw!!! *so man he is* I think the guys who joined us over at my place didn't really comprehend the sense of the game and how it had such a profound impact on us girlies. Now come on.... Cristiano Ronaldo... the epitome of soccer? Please! *yawn* So over rated!

Be afraid.... be very afraid of the Haka!

The All Blacks' forwards did really well, with Tony Woodcock contributing to 2 of the 4 tries scored! Nice work there mate! Halfback, Jimmy Cowan played a fine games as well, and who can forget Mr Dan Carter... nice legs there! woohoo! Ok, I think I'm getting a little high from this tri-nations fever!

That's it Mortlock... too bad this time round!

I really miss playing touch rugby now!!!

*chels when r we getting back into the game?*

Dinner after at Lee Tong Kee's was a nice change too. The place was pleasant and food was yums! The beef hor fun is worth the try - gooey gravy poured over those smooth and slippery hor fun noodles. The gravy had a strong aromatic taste to it, you could clearly taste the cinnamon and star annis spices used. *i might be wrong, but I'm sure some traditional spices were used... i ain't no food expert* I loved the mini deep friend prawn dumplings though... crispy and filled with a generous amount of prawns for its size.
